BMHGC Club Competition 2015/2016

Flying Season is here, and so is the annual BMHGC competition !

The format for this season gives pilots a number of tasks that they can complete whenever they choose. Tasks are then uploaded to XCContest and scored at the end of the season.

This means that club members can compete when they can, rather than have traditional competition days.

A massive thanks to this years competition organiser; Tom Urie.  Tom and Andy have set us some great challenges.

Good Luck Everyone

Jan Tupy having the first go of the season at; Mt Ovens to Blackheath Task

Waypoints

BLUEYSwaypoints.cup
Need to be double-checked.
Site Orientation Photos.

The big open fields to the north and north-west of the LZ are walking access only. Beware of powerlines (there is one near the eastern treeline, and another single line out in the northern end of the paddocks (out of picture). Avoid landing near horses - but the ones in the LZ are generally OK

Park on the southeast side of the two cattle grids (marked with red lines and red crosses on the map). Make sure that you don't block the road (allow space for a truck to pass), and don't block the side gate that horse floats use to access the paddocks.

Windyty forecast for Blackheath

I have added a link to the windyty forecast, localised to Blackheath, to the weather page.

Windyty Blackheath

This is a similar forecast to the blipmap, but has a nice rain prediction feature that has been holding up pretty well considering how difficult rain is to predict.

Keep in mind that Blackheath is located right on the boundary of two forecast areas in the computer model, so it is better to look a little further west for a wind speed indication.
